Chapter 12: Family Life

It was September 2048.
The NeoCal Space Rally had finished it's 2048 season, seing Dyna at her all-time low on the 16th place overall, leaving her on a tense position with her teamm at Szearz Motors. While she had already signed her contract for the next season, there were talks of phasing her out in favour of the upstart Richard Phelps.
Meanwhile, after the Shaffron Scandal where she left her former agency, Dyna was now into her second year of her break from professional modeling, which would otherwise keep her occupied during racing's off season.
So she found herself filling time in truly bizarre and random ways.
This is why on September 2048 she was attending the Atlas Corp's XXVII Congress on Speculative Genetics, on which she met a young investigator named Michell Powder.
Michell was a man of humble origins, growing up on an abandoned house in Divesterra after being himself abandoned as a baby. He somehow evaded the foster system, being raised instead by a group of ghosts, which he described as an "atypical yet very happy childhood". He had been intrested in sciences from a very young age, starting from his investigations into genetics as a way to find about his biologic family, but soon finding his true calling in botanics. He was admitted into Neo Deo Caliz's University with a full scholarship, from which he graduated in March 2047. He was on his second year into his PhD when he gave a presentation on Genetic Modification on Edible Crops for the Congress.
Dyna happened to attend his presentation and she was smitten by his "good looks" and "charming personality".
She then spent the rest of the congress following him around, taking him on dates and even once showing up on his hotel room drunk in the middle of the night.
Despite a rahter intense meet-cute, they only became an official couple two years later, citing Michell's studies taking priority in his life at the time.
"Dyna is the kind of woman you pay your whole attention to, you know?" he said during our interview. "It felt unfair to me to 'tie her down', so to speak, when I couldn't be the partner she deserved." They did remain in contact during that time, having the ocational private date.
In the meantime, there were plenty of romantic scandals surrounding Dyna's life, which she described as "utter bullshit".
"Being a single woman in the limelight often comes with stupid speculation," she said. "I couldn't meet up with anyone without some tabloid speculating about some secret romance. The worst of it was with mr. Darryson. I was looking into finding a new modeling agency, and we had agreed to meet up at a café for a chat, next thing I know I'm on the cover of some stupid magazine. I had only just met Micah by that point and I was scared he'd misunderstand the whole thing, but he was very understanding."
On January 2051, Dyna talked publicly about her relationship for the first time on a TV interview. At the time, she didn't even tell Michell's name, saying he was rather private person, and that the relationship was still new at the time.
To this day, Michell rarely makes public apperances with Dyna, and only started doing so after they married.
They got married the 12th of August, 2054, in a private ceremony with only a few close relatives.
